Fascinating piece about a friends drive to create a bot from the digital artefacts of her dead friend. As mentioned in the piece, it’s reminiscent of the 2013 episode of Black Mirror entitled “Be Right Back”, so if you haven’t seen that it’s worth tracking down and watching. It’s hard to know how this type of thing will shape human psyche in future but we’re going to have to tread carefully.
Seek this movie out. No surprise that it’s the most successful movie out of New Zealand bar LOTR. It’s filled with great performances, a sharp script, beautiful scenery and it’s damn funny.
