Vultures are back

If you’re a regular here you’ll know I’m a big fan of Devious Theatre and the guys from Kilkenny. Vultures PI isn’t a Devious product but is led by John Morton and a few of the same lads. Debuting in 2009, it was a four part web series tracking the various adventures of the titular Kilkenny based private investigations firm. Things didn’t finish up well for Vultures though as rival international agency, The Pinkertons, ran them out of business. I really enjoyed the first series and, yes you’ve guessed it, they’ve back for more in 2012. Janine Drew Presents Where Have All The Good Dicks Gone is the first of four incoming webisodes between now and June. They’re shorter in format than the first series but still have the mad characters I’ve learned to love (Jack Street is back). If you’d like to catch up on all episodes to date, head on over to their site.

Everything is a Remix

I discovered the Everything is a Remix series of videos via @christianhughes a couple of weeks ago and had meaning to blog them. In the four part series, Kirby Ferguson forces us to re-examine how we think about copyright, the creative process and everything in between. They’re truly brilliant so I’d encourage you to watch part one above and follow on to parts two, three and four.

Rob Reid: The $8 billion iPod

Comic author Rob Reid unveils Copyright Math (TM), a remarkable new field of study based on actual numbers from entertainment industry lawyers and lobbyists. This is very funny in the context of ACTA and SOPA having been introduced off the back of these types of figures.

Astronomer’s Paradise

Astronomer’s Paradise, the first episode of a Atacama Starry Nights timelapse movie series. Atacama Desert in Chile, South America, is home to some of the world’s leading telescopes. It’s also given me a real urge to go camping under the stars soon.

Punk Economics with David McWilliams

I’m really enjoying David McWilliams series of Youtube videos on the European economic crisis. It’s difficult to keep track of what’s happening so having it broken down like this is really effective. Here’s the two that have been posted so far:
