Well it’s Monday night and I’m about to watch a DVD after a hard day of watching 5 Veronica Mars episodes in a row. 🙂 The story of my weekend goes as follows:

Friday: Went to football with the lads and stopped into the Globe cafe on George’s Street to see a mate of a mate play a DJ set. Stayed for two drinks and then headed off home.
Saturday: I got bits and pieces done around the house before going out to the local pub with Dave for a few drinks. Unfortunately, “a few” turned into “too many” and we ended up going to a local niteclub. Pretty funny night out though but I don’t like hangovers.
Sunday: Last night was my friend Helen’s Halloween House Party so I got dressed up as an Egyptian Carpet Salesman (:smile:) and toddled along. Had a really good night and only got in at about 4.30, hence my lazy day today.

Right so, off to watch that movie.

I never saw this at the time but Comedy Central did a skit for 2004’s Last Laugh program starring Andy Dick as President Bush’s Speechalist. Normally I can’t stand that bloke but this is genuinely funny.

What is it about Dublin traffic that it always seems to be busier on a day when it rains? I got off the bus this morning at 9:18. I had been due to get on the bus at 8:10 but it only arrived at 8:20. In normal conditions it would have been a half hour to fourty minute trip so why the major delay? Well, I have a theory that a lot of people who normally take the bus just hop into their cars on rainy days. Personally I find it bloody ridiculous. This is Ireland for God’s sake!! It rains most days so just get over it and get on the bus instead of causing major traffic congestion. 👿 Seriously!! Oh and drivers who refuse to stay in lane properly and block the bus lane “by accident” should have their licenses taken off them and be forced to ride tricycles to work.

A few things I’ve been meaning to link to:

Clerks 2 has started filming and Kevin Smith is putting up various video posts about the production.
I’ve used Meebo a couple of times recently. It allows you to get a smart little web based interface to most of the IM systems. I stumbled across it after Dave mentioned it and showed a screenshot. It uses AJAX and is much better than Microsoft’s Web Messenger.
Another cool link blogged by Dave was photos of MC Hammer’s visit to Google. The guy’s a legend. 🙂
Dave2 has been touring Italy for the past week or so and he makes a great post about why he hates going on organised tours. It had me in stitches. 😆
Damien Mulley says what everyone was afraid to say about the new iPod video. 🙂
A company called QOOP are offering a service to print photobooks from your Flickr! photos. I may see if I can get one of these done up for Christmas as I really like the idea and don’t have any of my digital shots printed yet. 😯

The Bubble Project (via Karla) is very cool. “I printed 15,000 of these bubble stickers and place them on top of ads all over New York City. Passersby fill them in. I go back and photograph the results.” Fantastic.

This video is stunning as it’s compiled from images of Earth taken by the Messenger spacecraft as it left for Mercury.
Sam just keeps posting beautiful photos. This one is of the Atlantic Ocean as the sun rises.
CNET has named its top 100 blogs (via Tom). I haven’t had a chance to check out most of them yet but it is on my list of things to do. 🙂 Unfortunately my blog wasn’t listed. I wonder what odds Paddy Power would give me on making the list next year?
This site lists speed-runs for lots of different games (via Michael). I don’t know what possesses people to do it but it looks cool.
