Wow, Kottke.org links to some really cool stuff. He linked to a video of Lake Peigneur from footage shown on the National Geographic Channel. In 1980, oil drillers working for Texaco accidentally drilled into a salt mine underneath a shallow water lake which proceeded to drain the lake into the mine and even reverse the flow of a canal coming from the lake. It’s a crazy story and really interested to read so check it out. I’ve included the video below:

Well I’m back from Orlando. That doesn’t quite sum up the whole trip or the nightmare journey home but this is a promise that I will have photos and the full blog entry by the end of the week. 🙂 I’m presently sifting through almost 800 photos that myself and Aido took to find the best ones to go up on Flickr. I bought a new Nikon Coolpix P2 camera over there and made use of the 1Gb card I bought with it. In fact, I almost filled it.
Wow, the past week has been hectic in Orlando. We’ve done so much in such a small amount of time. That includes visiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Universal Studios, The Hard Rock, NBA City Restaurant. In fact I’m struggling to remember all that we’ve done. I found a nice little internet cafe located in the Mini Golf place opposite the hotel so I’ll be posting a full entry (with pics Dave) tomorrow at some stage. We’re travelling to Cape Canaveral in the morning so it won’t be a late night tonight. The weather has been good but not too hot, thankfully. 🙂 Apparently it’s particularly hot at home with tempatures in the 30s. Poor feckers, at least there’s something to do out here besides work. Take to ye tomorrow so. 😀
Well, I’m here in sunny Orlando. I didn’t post about it in the runup purely due to the fact that I was so busy getting ready to fly out here. I’ve never flown to the States so the journey was quite a long one. We flew to Atlanta first with Delta and then caught a connecting flight down here. Very jetlagged last night and had been up 22 hours before going to bed. The hotel is grand and we were greeted at check-in by a hotel employee who told us “we all have big party now”. 🙂 We plan on going to Disney and Universal starting tomorrow.
Atari Pole Position Ad
This is probably the greatest video game ad ever. 😆 Every ad should start with “HEY!!!”.
