Put quite simply, hitRECord is an open collaborative production company, and hitrecord.org is where thousands of ordinary joes make things together. Joseph Gordon Levitt and his bro are the guys behind it and they’ve been working on it since 2005. They recently produced the first hitRECord show for TV and you can watch it below. Brilliant stuff in fairness.

This looks fascinating. Spike Jonze takes the helm for this comedy about a withdrawn writer (Joaquin Phoenix) who falls in love with his computer’s highly advanced operating system. It’s running above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and is released in Ireland on 14th of February.
Quite a terrifying road safety ad from the New Zealand Transport Agency. You have to question how reckless some people are on the roads that we have to produce these types of ads in the first place.

I knew nothing about it going in and that was the best way to see it. The hugely successful Broadway play, since running in London too, is touring the UK and Ireland with the run about halfway through in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. I’m not a huge musicals fan but the script, sets and performances were superb. No wonder the rest of the run is almost entirely booked out.
It’s almost a year since I’d seen this video about Dublin. The flow to it is fantastic and it gives you a real sense for what makes the city unique. It also made one of the women in my office cry. Worth a watch if you’ve never seen it. Written and directed by Dave Tynan with Emmet Kirwin as the lead.
