Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player was originally built by Microsoft to play simple WAV and MIDI samples. The latest version, Windows Media Player 7, caters for nearly all sound and video formats and takes a step away from the traditional look of Windows. As you can see on the left, you can customise the latest version of WMP with skins, much the same as Winamp. It also supports Active Streaming Format files which are similiar to RealAudio files but provide slightly better compression rates. Support for portable devices and also advanced playlist features makes this one of the best audio players out there.
